Gold is an amazing material, as are all precious metals. The way it can be reworked, manipulated, filed, shaped and polished to restore the beauty of times gone by has to be seen to be believed.
The setting on this gents ring was completely worn out. We replaced the diamonds and tidied up the setting, finishing it with a polish.
This ring was so badly worn it was barely recognisable. We rebuilt the setting and replaced the missing square cut sapphires.
This earring fell out of our customer's ear and was run over by a car. We managed to bring it back from the brink with a fair amount of TLC, replacing and resetting the missing diamonds. Can you tell which one we repaired?
This bangle had to be cut off our customer's arm. Not only did we repair it but we had to add about 26mm of extra bangle. Can you see where the joins are?
This ring was cut off our customer's finger using a pair of snips. You can see where they had a few failed attempts to cut through. This is why we love working with gold. It's so satisfying to be able to repair it invisibly. It also takes a polish so well you can see the reflection of the camera in it!
What a difference a professional clean makes!
This is one of the finest chains you're likely to see. The links were only 0.12mm thick, yet we were still able to repair it invisibly. Many other jewellers would simply solder multiple links together, leaving you with a stiff section of chain.
