A Day Away Together: Our K'gari Team Trip

In the busyness of everyday life, and especially in retail... It's easy to forget to pause, step back, and simply enjoy the people you work alongside. This February, we did just that, trading our showcases and benches for sand, sea air, and sunshine with a one-day team trip to K'gari (Fraser Island). 🏝️

Like any great adventure, the day began with a little unexpected excitement when our first bus decided it needed an early rest stop and overheated, sending us onto a replacement bus before we'd even properly begun. It turned out to be the perfect icebreaker, setting the tone for a day filled with laughs, stories, and the kind of small moments that make trips memorable. K'gari is one of those places that instantly puts everything into perspective. The vast beaches, towering forests, and endless sky have a way of slowing you down, even if only for a day. At Eli Creek, we even found ourselves sharing the shade with a relaxed dingo who seemed completely unbothered by the passing visitors, quietly reminding us that we were guests in a truly special place. 🌞🌊

 

We were joined not only by our team, but also by a few of their family members, which made the day feel even more special. Seeing everyone outside of work, sharing laughs, exploring together, and enjoying the experience side by side reminded us just how important these connections are. When you work closely together day in and day out, those relationships truly matter.

As an independant jewellery store, our team is at the heart of everything we do. They're the ones who help you choose engagement rings, repair sentimental pieces, celebrate milestones, and find the perfect gift. Taking a day to invest in them, amd the families who support them, felt incredibly important.

We returned home sun-kissed, sandy, and happily exhausted. Grateful for the experience, the memories, and the wonderful people who make our store what it is every single day.
